What LeaveSafe does
LeaveSafe helps you remember what you checked before leaving a cabin, boat, caravan, RV, or second home. You keep checklists on your device, run arrival and departure checks, add optional photos and notes, and can share a checklist or trip report with someone else.
How LeaveSafe works
- On-device only: Locations, checklists, trip history, notes, comments, and photos are stored on your device.
- No account required: The app does not create user accounts or require sign-in.
- No SimpDev cloud: Checklist and trip data is not uploaded to SimpDev servers.
- No location tracking: LeaveSafe does not use GPS or track where you are.
Data stored on your device
LeaveSafe stores app data locally in private app storage, including:
- place names and types you add (for example a cabin name)
- checklist items and whether they were checked or skipped
- optional trip notes and per-item comments
- optional photos you take for checklist items
- trip history and completion status
- app preferences such as appearance
Android backup may include this local data in your device backup if backup is enabled on the phone. Uninstalling the app or clearing storage removes the local data from that device.
Permissions
- Camera: optional. Used only if you choose to take a photo for a checklist item. Photos stay on the device.
- Notifications: optional. Used to remind you to complete a trip if you still have one open.
LeaveSafe does not request contacts, microphone, or precise location.
Sharing
You can share a checklist or a finished trip report using the Android share sheet (for example SMS, email, or another app you pick). SimpDev does not receive that message. Whoever you send it to will see the text or link you shared.
Shared checklist invite links can include the checklist content in the link itself. Opening a link on leavesafe.app shows a short landing page so a friend can add the checklist in the app. That page does not create an account or store your checklists on SimpDev servers.
Purchases
Optional paid features (LeaveSafe Plus), if offered, are processed by Google Play. SimpDev does not receive your payment card details. Google’s own privacy policy applies to Play purchases.
Third-party services
Core checklist features run on your device and do not require SimpDev cloud services. Distribution through Google Play is provided by Google and is subject to Google’s policies.
LeaveSafe does not include advertising SDKs and does not sell your data to advertisers.
Children’s privacy
LeaveSafe is not directed at children under 13. The app does not provide public profiles, social feeds, chat, or child accounts.
Data sharing and selling
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your checklists, photos, or trip notes for third-party advertising profiles.
Data retention
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear app storage, or uninstall the app.
Delete your data
You can remove LeaveSafe data by:
- deleting a location, trip, or photo in the app, and/or
- clearing app storage in Android system settings, and/or
- uninstalling the app
Because checklists, notes, and photos are stored on the device, uninstalling or clearing storage removes them from that device. Shared copies you already sent to someone else are outside the app and cannot be recalled from LeaveSafe.
Security
We use platform-provided private app storage on your device. The app does not transmit your checklists, photos, or trip notes to SimpDev servers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the latest version. If the app later adds optional online features, this policy will be updated to describe them.
